Image formed by a convex lens :-

1. When the object is at infinity :

When the object is at infinity,the lights coming from the object act as parallel beam. After crossing the lens this light will meet at the focus and image is formed at the focus.

Properties:

The image is real and inverted.

2. When the object is beyond 2F :

The image will be formed between F and 2F.

Properties:

Image is diminished,real and inverted.

3. When the object is at 2F :

The image will be formed at 2F.

Properties :

The image will be of same size as object, real and inverted.

4. The object is between 2F and F:

An enlarged,real and inverted image is formed beyond 2F on the other side of the lens from where the object is situated.

Properties:

Image is enlarged,real and inverted.

5. When the object is at focus:

In this case the rays comes out from the lens are parallel and they will never meet. So we'll not get any image or it is said to be the image is formed at infinity.

Properties:

Image is highly enlarged,real and inverted.

6. When the object is between focus and optical centre:

A virtual, erect and enlarged image is formed at the same side of the lens where the object is placed.

Properties:

Image is enlarged, virtual and erect.
