We know or talk about 2D, 3D, 4D. But we can extend it to ND also, but that would be hypothetical, i.e, we can imagine for nD also.

Physics major at IIT-J researching in theoretical particle physics.

We have 3 "physical" dimensions. The 4th dimension we consider in relativity is time, which constitutes the understanding of the spacetime continuum. There is also a branch of cosmology that believe gravity to be the 5th dimension.

This is still controversial but a curious one must know there is a belief that there exist approximately 11 physical dimensions. Reply back if you are really interested in the names of those dimensions.

This is a very fundamental question that you have asked, and quite simply, we don't definitively know. General Relativity gives us a 3+1 classical field theory, where there are 3 dimensions of space and 1 dimension of time(x,y,z-direction, and time). Superstring theory, on the other hand, gives us a 10+1 quantum gravity theory with ten dimensions of space and one dimension of time. The dimensions of space other than x, y, and z dimensions are 'compact' dimensions.

A simple way to think of a compact dimension is to think about looking at a far off traffic light. It appears two dimensional when you're far away, but as you get closer and closer, you see that it is 3 dimensional. Similarly, these compact dimensions are so tiny that they are not possible to be detected by today's experiments, and I am hoping that they do find them in the near future.

I hope that answers your question.

What is the Young's modulus for a perfect rigid body?

we know that young modulus =Stress/strain and A rigid body is defined as one manifesting zero strain regardless of applied stress so Y=stress/0 Y= infinite (because any number devived by zero is infinite, 1/0= infinite)

Why is only the speed of light constant in all frames of reference?

It is a fundamental postulate of Einstein's particular theory of relativity. We found no evidence opposing this until now. It is confirmed later in many experiments.
